Academic focus: 
Popular genres in modern and contemporary Latin American literature (science fiction, horror, the fantastic) 

Current research project: 
Co-editing the volume “Horror and the Supernatural in Latin America,” to be published in 2022 by Hispanic Issues. Researching on nuclear energy in Brazil and Bolivia for the book of short stories I’m writing.

I enjoy hiking, watching horror films, and playing with my cats. 

Courses you’re most looking forward to teaching: 
A graduate seminar on speculative fiction in Latin America. 

What most excites you about Cornell: 
The freedom I have to design courses and explore new research projects. The impressive talent of the undergraduate and graduate student I encounter every semester in my classes.
